How do I link or unlink my Facebook or Twitter account?

Connecting a third-party service, like your Twitter or Facebook account, to your Dropbox account is completely optional.

Connect or disconnect a third-party service

  1. Sign in at dropbox.com.
  2. Click your name in the top-right corner.
  3. Click Settings.
  4. Click Account, or click Personal if you paired personal and work Dropbox accounts.
  5. To connect a service, click Connect your [service name] account. To remove a service, click disconnect next to the appropriate service.

Once you disconnect from a thrid-party service, you'll no longer be able to access your contacts from the Shared folder dialog or through the Referral page. If disconnecting your Facebook account, you'll no longer be able to use Dropbox to share files with Facebook Groups.

If you received free space by connecting your Twitter and Facebook accounts, you will keep that space even if you disconnect your accounts. But, should you reconnect your accounts, you won't be eligible for more free space.
