What's the VAT number for Dropbox, and how can I add a VAT ID to my account?

As a US company, Dropbox does not collect VAT and does not have a VAT number. Dropbox is zero-rated, as we currently conduct no activities in Europe.

For our Business users, Dropbox has a VAT-exclusive pricing method. The Admin of a Business team can provide their VAT ID along with their billing information to avoid being charged VAT.

If needed, you can download a copy of our W-9 form and use our US Taxpayer Identification Number (TIN).

If you operate a business in the EU, we'll charge the VAT rate of the EU country you are based in. You should be able to reclaim VAT payments from your tax authorities.

Add a VAT ID to a Dropbox for Business account

  1. Sign in to the Dropbox website and click the Admin Console
  2. Click Account
  3. Click the Billing tab
  4. Click Update billing information. You will then be brought to a screen where you can update your VAT ID.
