Accessing Dropbox files if you used the Samsung Gallery or My Files apps, or the DocumentSync folder

Starting April 1, 2018 most Samsung users will no longer be able to access Dropbox files through the Samsung Gallery or My Files apps, or through the DocumentSync folder. As of this date, the Gallery and My Files apps, and the DocumentSync folder on your phone, will stop syncing to Dropbox. However, all files will remain safe in Dropbox, and be accessible through the Dropbox app or on dropbox.com.

To continue accessing and editing your files on a Samsung device, use the Dropbox mobile app:

  1. Download the Dropbox mobile app from the Google Play store.
  2. Sign in with the same Dropbox account you connected to the Samsung Gallery or My Files apps.

Learn more about using the Dropbox mobile app.

Previously, some Samsung device users could access all their Dropbox files from the Samsung Gallery or My Files apps, or through the DocumentSync folder. These allowed you to add, edit, and delete any files stored in Dropbox without opening the Dropbox app itself. Changes you made would appear both on your phone and in your Dropbox. However, these integrations are no longer available.
