Video and audio files cut off when I stream them on dropbox.com

All shared audio files have a streaming limit of 4 hours on dropbox.com.

If a video is shared with you on dropbox.com, you may not be able to stream (or play) the entire file. This depends on the kind of Dropbox account the owner of the video file has: Basic, Plus, Professional, or Business.

These limitations only apply to shared video and audio files on dropbox.com. If the file is stored on your own account, you can always stream it (in its entirety) on dropbox.com.

There are two ways to play a complete audio or video file that was shared with you (in its entirety):

  • Open and play it with the Dropbox mobile app
  • Download it to your Dropbox account

If the owner of the video is a Dropbox Basic user

If a Dropbox Basic user shares a video with you, you can stream the first 15 minutes on dropbox.com.

If the owner of the video is a Dropbox Plus or Professional user

If a Dropbox Plus or Professional user shares a video with you, you can stream the first 60 minutes on dropbox.com.

If the owner of a video is a Dropbox Business user

If a Dropbox Business user shares a video with you, you can stream the first four hours on dropbox.com.
