If a team folder has too many members, you may see a message telling you that you can’t add any more. This is to ensure your folders sync properly, and prevent issues like folder update errors.

What can I do if I can’t add members to a team folder?

We’re constantly working to make it so you can add even more members to your Dropbox folders. In the meantime, if you reach the limit, here are a few things you can do:

Remove some members. Take a look at the members who are in the folder already, and consider removing some to make room for the members you’re trying to add.

Reorganize your team folders. If you have a team folder that reaches the member limits, you won’t be able to add people to the team folder, or to any of the shared folders it contains. To solve this problem, you can divide your team members into more team folders that represent smaller teams.

For example, imagine you have a team folder called “Marketing”. Within Marketing, you have two shared folders: “Sales” and “Advertising”. If you make “Sales” and “Advertising” team folders instead of shared folders, that’ll give you more space to add more members.
