Team Description

Our Business Strategy & Operations team sets and drives key business initiatives across the company. We complement and support product, engineering, sales, and marketing teams across three critical areas: corporate and business unit strategy, business planning and sales operations, and business systems and tools development.

Role Description

As an engineer on the Customer Intelligence team, you will help expand our suite of internal sales and insight tools by leveraging Dropbox’s rich dataset of user activity. You’ll work on features that you own end-to-end and will be empowered to make decisions on how best to execute them. You will also collaborate directly with end-users (our team of sales professionals) to constantly iterate and improve our product.

Responsibilities

  • Build the future. Architect full-featured sales applications and develop systems that tease out important insights from big, complex data.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally. Partner with data scientists and engineers to integrate machine learning models into our tools.
  • Understand (but never accept) the limitations of existing infrastructure. Venture to any level of abstraction and push beyond existing paradigms to make our product better.
  • Build tools worthy of trust. Drive best practices in building tools that are scalable, robust, and most importantly secure.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent practical work experience in Computer Science (bootcamp grads welcome)
  • 2+ years work experience in engineering or related technical field
  • Previous success developing and shipping web applications with a user-oriented mindset
  • Strong understanding of JavaScript (ES6), HTML and CSS
  • Experience implementing full stack features with React and Node/Express
  • Past experience using SQL and basic understanding of table design
  • Familiarity with Python
  • Knowledge of state management frameworks, such as Redux or Flux
  • Passion and/or experience in data visualization
  • Interest in data ETL design and implementation
