Team Description

Our Business Strategy & Operations team sets and drives key business initiatives across the company. We complement and support product, engineering, sales, and marketing teams across three critical areas: corporate and business unit strategy, business planning and sales operations, and business systems and tools development.

Role Description

We're looking for a BI Engineer to partner closely with Business Stakeholders and Data Engineering, and make it fast and easy to use data for decision-making across the company.

You should have deep expertise in the design, creation, management, and business use of large datasets. An ideal candidate will have excellent interpersonal skills to be able to work with business owners to develop and define key business questions and to build data sets that answer those questions. We solve challenging problems and boost business growth through a deep understanding of consumer behaviors with applied BI techniques and business insights. An ideal candidate should have robust knowledge of both data related technical skills and strong business sense. 

Responsibilities

  • Partner with growth analysts, data scientists, business users and others to understand their needs and come up with an end-to-end reporting solution. 
  • Create source of truth data-sets to be used for reporting
  • Build executive-facing dashboards & visualizations to track progress of important metrics
  • Work with Engineering partners to help shape and drive the development of BI infrastructure, including data warehousing, reporting and analytics platforms
  • Assist in training sessions to evangelize reporting best practices throughout the company

Requirements

  • Bachelors’ or above in CS, Engineering, Physics, Math, Statistics, Business, Economics or related field
  • 2-5 years experience using analytics to drive key business decisions; examples include business/product/marketing analytics, business intelligence
  • Proven success in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior management to collect requirements, describe data modeling decisions and data engineering strategy
  • Advanced skills in Excel as well as any data visualization tools like Tableau or similar BI tools
  • Advanced ability to draw insights from data and clearly communicate them (verbal/written) to the stakeholders and senior management as required.
  • Be self-driven, and show ability to deliver on ambiguous projects with incomplete or dirty data.
  • An ability and interest in working in a fast-paced and rapidly-changing environment
