Role Description

The Media and Collaboration Systems Manager will lead a staff of technical engineers and production video specialists responsible for the day to day operations, design and implementation of communication technologies as well as multi-platform media creation and distribution. You will help lead Dropbox into its next phase of success by developing and scaling new and existing tools aimed at helping Dropboxers communicate and collaborate more effectively.

Dropbox is a company with global presence and has employees located all over the world. We support over 500 conference rooms in 10+ globally distributed office locations for over 2000 Dropboxers. We also support approximately 400 internal events and 40 production video projects per year.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a globally distributed team of 10 technical members backing our global audio/video conferencing, events, and streaming services.
  • Collaborate with critical partners (both business and internal IT) to implement solutions that continue to transformation the way we engage and collaborate as a company while also ensuring that security and reliability are always at the forefront of the services we offer.
  • Lead the installation, configuration, commissioning, and training of all audio/visual integration projects in support of our growing global office workforce.
  • Manager vendors, integrators, and service providers for adherence to project scope, service delivery schedule, and budget allocation.
  • Build and maintain a documentation repository that houses all audio visual reference architecture.
  • Serve as lead technical liaison to your business partners; develop and implement road-maps to eliminate, simplify, or automate ineffective elements of our current workflows in conjunction with cross-functional partners
  • Set in partnership with business partners, the quality standards (SLA’s, KPI) required to support a growing and fast-growing business collaboration environment. Establish and adhere to metrics that allow you to measure your teams overall success.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of direct management experience including managing teams that are globally dispersed.
  • 7+ years video production experience including working in a rapidly changing environment across multiple teams, preferably as a lead technician, technical director, or event manager.
  • 3+ years project management experience with AV/VC system deployment in an enterprise setting.
  • Passion for driving continual improvement initiatives around availability, performance, agility and unit cost. You are able to monitor and measure the health of your service with metrics, SLA reporting, and dashboards.
  • Experience balancing vendors to deliver defined projects.
  • Experience in leading and scaling audio visual and video conferencing designs, system integration and resolution.
  • BA/BS degree from a 4-year university/professional school or equivalent; work experience accepted.
