Team Description

Our Business Strategy & Operations team sets and drives key business initiatives across the company. We complement and support product, engineering, sales, and marketing teams across three critical areas: corporate and business unit strategy, business planning and sales operations, and business systems and tools development.

Role Description

As part of the Business Strategy team, you will be a trusted leader with vision that works closely with the executive team to drive:

  • Corporate & business-level strategy: Work closely with senior executives across functions - such as product, sales, marketing, business development, and finance - to set our strategy and drive key business initiatives
  • Strategic knowledge & insights: Develop outstanding insights on our markets, competitors, and business trends, and disseminate this knowledge across Dropbox to inform key decisions
  • Operational excellence: Help our leaders run Dropbox skillfully, which includes clarifying accountability, as well as identifying and monitoring critical success metrics

  • Develop a deep understanding of the Dropbox business including market and competitive context, function-level strategies, and internal processes
  • Drive project execution - structure complex problems, develop hypotheses, conduct analyses, synthesize insights and recommendations, and align cross-functional partners
  • Influence decision making within Dropbox leadership through strong working relationships, effective communication, and compelling output


  • Bachelor’s degree; M.B.A. or other advanced technical degree preferred
  • 5+ years experience in management consulting, investment banking, private equity, or strategy/business operations for a software company
  • Self-starter that thrives in ambiguity and a rapidly evolving business landscape
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience in building strong working relationships with senior executives
  • Collaborative teammate that can drive complex cross-functional projects with multiple partners
