How do I recreate a shared link that stopped working?

To recreate a shared link that stopped working, remove the existing link and then create a new one.

Remove an existing link

  1. Sign in to dropbox.com.
  2. Click Links in the left sidebar.
  3. Click the X beside the link that stopped working (the file or folder that the link points to is listed).
  4. Click Remove link in the pop-up window to confirm your choice.

Create a new link

  1. Sign in to dropbox.com.
  2. Hover your cursor over the file or folder you'd like to share and click the blue Share button that appears.

    • If sharing a folder, select Send link…
  3. A pop-up window with a generated link will appear. Enter the email addresses of the people you'd like to send the link to and click Send. Or, copy and paste the link in your email, instant message, blog post, or wherever you'd like people to access the link.

    • Pro and Business users: You'll see options in the pop-up window to set a password and/or expiration for the link.
