Product Marketing Manager, Search & Organize
Company Description
Dropbox is a leading global collaboration platform that's transforming the way people work together, from the smallest business to the largest enterprise. With more than 500 million registered users across more than 180 countries, our mission is to design a more enlightened way of working. From our headquarters in San Francisco to eight dedicated Studios and a worldwide team of employees who choose where they work best, our Virtual First approach is leading the way into the future of work.
Team Description
Our Marketing team sets product positioning and strategy, manages product launches, and gathers customer insights. We’re responsible for maximizing our products' potential, in order to delight our users and help Dropbox grow. We partner with teams across the company, including Product, Sales, and Engineering.
Role Description
- Build. Deeply understand the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats to our business, products, and solutions. Leverage customer and competitive insights to craft effective messaging, positioning, and assets for feature development and launches.
- Launch. Bring products to market that prove our unique value, vision and leadership by partnering with cross-functional teams to expand customer reach and awareness. Deliver best-in-class product education and communications that bridge the gap between product development and customer experience.
- Grow. Develop messaging that demonstrates deep audience understanding to effectively sell solutions, continuing to advocate for our customers.
Responsibilities
- Customer and Product Expertise: Become the subject-matter-expert on our target audiences, creating segmentation frameworks, prioritizing key jobs-to-be-done for the customer, and grounding strategic decisions in customer insights. Ensure there is tight alignment between customer needs and product solutions by also deeply understanding the product experience.
- Positioning, Messaging, and Naming: Craft insights-backed product positioning and messaging that serves as the keystone for internal and external launch assets, marketing programs, web copy, presentations and more. Lean into key differentiators and value drivers to drive distinctive messaging for a range of target audience segments (consumers to businesses).
- Research: Partner with internal teams to drive qualitative and quantitative research to better understand our customers and competitors, and develop clear recommendations based on that research.
- Launch Planning: Play a key role in launching new features or deprecating features that are not delivering value to customers. Partner on pricing and packaging research and strategy and pre-launch experiment strategy. Execute full-funnel go-to-market product launches by collaborating closely with the product, growth, and integrated marketing teams on content and campaign development. Continuously bring launch learnings back to the product team to inform product development and improve on execution through testing and iterating.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Be a business and strategic partner to the product team by connecting with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment in prioritization, goal setting, planning and execution. Connect stakeholder partners including Product, Brand, Marketing, Sales, and more. Embody our core values and uphold our unique company culture. We value diversity and inclusion, and encourage our team members to be their authentic selves at work.
