“By bringing the files and context people already rely on in Dropbox directly into ChatGPT, we’re making it easier to move from finding information to understanding it, developing new ideas and taking action - all in one flow. This is an important step toward making ChatGPT a more connected place to get work done, while respecting the permissions and controls people already have in place.”

Connect Dropbox to make it easier to find and work with your files in ChatGPT. Browse recent files, find Dropbox content through search and work from the content you already have permission to access, while keeping your files in Dropbox.

Find and reference Dropbox files, summarise and analyse content, organise files and folders, create shareable links and file requests, bring in a supported video to play and modify and save ChatGPT-generated work back to Dropbox, all without leaving ChatGPT.

ChatGPT retrieves your data only after you’ve enabled the ChatGPT Dropbox connector and if you ask ChatGPT to perform any action with your Dropbox data. ChatGPT will request your permission before making any changes to your data, such as adding new files or creating share links.

ChatGPT can:

  • View files and folders
  • Create, move, copy and delete files and folders
  • Create and edit shared links
  • View shared link details
  • Create and manage file requests

ChatGPT can perform these actions only when you request them. ChatGPT won’t read data from your Dropbox account unless you specifically request it in a conversation.
