Dropbox for Good is an employee-led group that encourages Dropboxers to use their skills and time to serve their communities. We provide employees 32 hours of volunteer time off per year and match financial gifts given to the causes they care about most. In addition, Dropbox offers a product donation program to eligible nonprofits.
In 2020, employees gave:
Being a good neighbor is important to us. We focus on building strong partnerships with the communities we call home.
This includes active support for organizations like Family House and 826 Valencia in San Francisco, Code Nation in New York, Haverstock School in London, CASA in Dublin, and Girls and Boys Brigade in Sydney.
We launched the Dropbox Foundation in 2018 to partner with impactful organizations that defend human rights around the world. Our unique structure supports these nonprofits in three important ways: unrestricted funding, skills-based volunteering and product donations.
Grants from the Dropbox Foundation come without strings attached, so our partners can use the funds flexibly for their operational or programmatic needs. And to make that funding go further, we match their requirements to the capabilities of Dropbox employee volunteers. These Dropboxers use their time, skills, and expertise to support our partners’ operations in everything from engineering and marketing, to human resources and communications projects.
The challenges our nonprofit partners face to deliver aid and assistance to marginalized communities are growing.
We’ve laid the groundwork with our partners and within Dropbox to enable greater impact in the years ahead. We know that this is just the beginning, and we’re excited to continue supporting our partners to achieve their missions.
